Where has the time gone?

Things have been very interesting since I last posted. Christmas has come and gone, and the cake business has taken a huge leap forward. I am suddenly having so many requests for the month of March, that I am sadly having to turn people down. I would love to be able to fit everyone in, but I have to leave time for myself, my husband, my baby boy, and my kids at school. I greatly appreciate all of the sudden interest, though. It has been very flattering and encouraging. Here are some of the recent cakes I have done.

Can I have one, too, please???

I recently added a fanpage on Facebook, and a few people have asked for prices, so I wanted to give you an idea of the general cost of the cakes. Making these takes tons more time than any cake you would order from a grocery store, which is why they tend to cost more. This cake adventure has been a great joy to me, though, so if price is a concern, I'm sure we can work out something that works for both of us. I want to do my best to help add a bit of joy to any of your celebrations.
Feel free to call or text me with any questions.

Single 9" (three layers of cake inside) with fondant work: $25+ serves 8-12

14" 10" and 6" (two layers of cake in each tier) with fondant work: $75+ serves 50-75

I am doing a wedding in November with the triple tier cake, with 4" tall three layer tiers. I am slowly, and nervously, getting into doing wedding cakes, but am excited to be taking that step in the baking world.

The birth of BabyCakes

I wanted to start this blog as a way to share my cakes with everyone. It has quickly become a growing endeavor. I started this adventure at the end of July 2009, hoping to start making some cute cupcakes. Thanks to a fellow teacher asking me to do a cake for her daughter's birthday, I soon found out that I could have much bigger aspirations. It has been a wonderful joy to be able to make these cakes, hoping that I can in some way help the world be a happier place.. one cake at a time. It all started with some happy, yellow cupcakes..

Then came the cell phone cake, where it all began to take flight..

Our wonderful 4th grade team asked me to make a girly cake for a baby shower at school.
